Welcome to our San Francisco custom framing studio, where craftsmanship, preservation, and thoughtful design come together. Capricorn Framing specializes in conservation framing, museum-quality materials, and custom solutions for artwork, documents, textiles, mirrors, memorabilia, and 3D objects.

Known for our personalized service and creative problem-solving, Capricorn Framing works closely with artists, collectors, interior designers, and homeowners to create framing solutions tailored to each piece and space. From archival mounting techniques to custom finished-corner frames and complex shadowbox designs, our team is committed to delivering exceptional quality and attention to detail on every project.

Our History

Capricorn Framing was founded in 2006 by Lloyd Haddad, whose background in engineering helped shape the shop’s precision-focused and conservation-driven approach to framing. Recognizing a growing need within the Bay Area art community for higher quality framing options, Haddad built Capricorn Framing around the idea that custom framing should combine technical expertise, preservation standards, and thoughtful design.

In 2014, Keith Wicker joined the business, bringing a unique combination of experience in aeronautical engineering, woodworking, and aviation. A retired Army helicopter pilot instructor and former KTVU-TV news pilot, Wicker expanded the studio’s capabilities with his problem-solving mindset and craftsmanship.

Twenty years later, we are proud to be recognized as a leader in quality preservation framing. Our growth has extended beyond our original studio, and through shared ownership of Walter Adams Framing, we now operate three additional custom framing locations in San Francisco. What began as a focused mission has evolved into a broader network of studios grounded in the same values.

We have also just opened a new production facility that furthers our commitment to providing the highest quality framing for your art.
